Zoo photography comes with a variety of challenges. Lou Alexander will discuss techniques to overcome these issues and capture colorful, characterful images of zoo animals. Lou is a Sedgwick County Zoo volunteer whose photos are frequently featured at the zoo and on its website and social media.
This is a hybrid event: Attend in person at Newton Public Library; register for the Zoom webinar; or head to the NPL Facebook page at the time of the event for a livestream.
Lou started shooting photos during a college photography class. She became an assistant to a commercial photographer, and then served as the photographer for St. Joseph Medical Center for a couple of years. After a break from photography, she picked it back up when her kids were involved in school sports. Later, looking for more opportunities to keep shooting photos, she started taking pictures at the Sedgwick County Zoo.
Please note: Lou's talk is part of the Fourth Tuesday Photography series, but due to a scheduling conflict, it is NOT taking place on the fourth Tuesday! The event will be held Tuesday, May 30, at 7 p.m.
