Photographer Nate Hofer will present a talk entitled "Shooting for a Cause: How to Make Photographs Bigger Than Just You."

Nate Hofer is a graphic designer, artist, and musician born in Africa to Mennonite conscientious objectors to the Vietnam War. He grew up in the Lawrence, Kansas area and received BFAs in painting and graphic design from The University of Kansas.
Nate draws upon his midwestern upbringing during the Cold War of the 1980s to create documentary photographs addressing nuclear arms control and nonproliferation. In 2021 Nate won a Global Peace Photo Award medal for his work "One and a Half Acres: Images from America’s Decommissioned Missile Silos."
