The Newton Public Library is a family friendly environment. The staff is exceptionally courteous in helping individuals find specific books, as well as their way around the library. Moreover, they offer “large print” books for those who may have vision difficulties and also for special needs purposes. I just think it is wonderful how they try to accommodate everybody. Regarding accommodation, they respect every individual regardless of behavior, and, with some, are on a first-name basis. The library holds book clubs, StoryTime, and other events for both adults and children. I envision this as a great way to individualize a person and bring the community together.
I personally come to the library to work on college course work. I am studying Criminal Justice, so I need a more serene place to concentrate on my studies to achieve a high standard in law enforcement. I have two small children at home, so it’s not always quiet and easy to concentrate. However, speaking of my children, I also utilize the Newton Public Library by check out children’s books. My kids love to be read to, so we come quite frequently to renew our books. In addition to the children’s books, they have a play area for the children and computers with appropriate software accustomed to their age. I have been coming to the Newton Public Library for three or four years now and I am truly thankful for the presence of the library.
